The Asia Pacific Committee WAGGGS was elected by delegates to the 9th Asia Pacific Conference, which met in in June 2007. The members of the Asia Pacific Committee are:
June Cameron, AM – Chairman

June was first elected to the Asia Pacific Committee in 2004. June has a strong commitment to the personal development of girls and young women and enjoys seeing people develop their skills and grow through Girl Guiding. June is a retired teacher and a Former State Commissioner, member of National Executive. She is currently a National Trainer. In her free time she enjoys reading, music, travelling, tapestry and photography. Dr Nighat Arshad - Vice Chairman

Nighat was first elected to the Asia Pacific Committee in 2004. Nighat hopes to increase membership and work for quality Girl Guiding in Member Organizations. She is a Regional Commissioner for
Febe Marl Paat
(Philippines)
Febe hopes to be a prime mover in helping achieve and making things happen for the goals and actions identified for the Asia Pacific Region. She is a Member of her association’s National Program Committee. In her professional life, Febe is a Professor/Guidance and Counselling Director. In her free time she enjoys singing, doing cross stitching and bonding with her children.
Mariko Asano
(Japan)
Mariko was first elected to the Asia Pacific Committee in 2004. Mariko’s Management skills acquired from her job and broad experiences in overseas visit will make a contribution to the Asia Pacific Region. Mariko is the Chair of Friends of Sangam
Normala Baharudin
(Malaysia)
Normala wishes to work as a great team member to make the Asia Pacific Region one of the most respected and active regions in Girl Guiding through widening and enhancing her skills and knowledge. She is International Commissioner of her association and Deputy Chief Commissioner for Pahang Branch. Professionally she is Assistant Director in the Ministry of Education. In her free time she enjoys reading, cooking and needlework.
Ruchira Jayasinghe
(Sri Lanka)
Ruchira hopes to use her knowledge and experiences, personally and professionally, to develop girls and young women. She is a member of her association’s Executive Council. In her professional life, she is an analyst on the Colombo Stock Exchange
