The second Special Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides was held at Delhi’s Burari village ground from 25 to 31 December 2007. To mark the grand finale of Scouting Centenary celebration.
Approximately 15,000 Scouts and Guides and almost 3,000 adults and volunteers attended this Special Jamboree. About 500 Girls Scouts and Scouts from Nepal also attended. Other countries that participated were Sri Lanka Scouts Association, Bangladesh Scouts Association and Hong Kong Girl Guides Association. Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister of Delhi, inaugurated the Jamboree at a grand ceremony on 25 December.
The Jamboree Award Activity had thrilling and challenging activities which the participants loved for e.g. Challenge Valley with Tyre Wall, Pull up, Repelling Wall, Chimney Climbing, Tiger Jump etc. Enchanting and more alluring fun activities were archery, skate boarding, fun riding. The Jamboree had brain teasing quiz games like amateur radio, computer awareness puzzle corner etc. Jamboree witnessed pleasantries of cultural shows by Scouts and Guides.
Diversified Indian cultural blend had spiced up the fun and enjoyment in Jamboree with the attractions of good plaza, craft exhibition and State Day celebration
Nirmala Bhakre, AP Region Development Executive, Sally Thornton, Sangam World Centre Manager and Darshana Pawaskar, Deputy Manager, Sangam World Centre, together promoted WAGGGS four World Centres, AP Region and WAGGGS through a questionnaire. Those who correctly answered all the questions were given World Thinking Day badges and Sangam badges. The Booth fetched enormous response of the participants throughout the Jamboree.
