WAGGGS Meeting with the Vice President of the Republic of China

On 31 March, WAGGGS Chief Executive Mary Mc Phail and Asia Pacific Committee Members led by Chairman, June Cameron A.M., met with Mr Vincent Siew, Vice-President of the Republic of China (Taiwan) at the Presidential Office in Taipei, together with Kao Chang Ming-Luan, Chief Commissioner of the Girl Scouts of Taiwan (GST) and senior Commissioners from GST. The Asia Pacific Committee was in Taiwan for the 40th Asia Pacific Committee Meeting held from 29 March to 1 April 2009.

Mr Siew commended the service spirit of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting. He believed that Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting play a major role in helping those in need and working towards a harmonious society. He also acknowledged the efforts of the Girl Scouts of Taiwan for hosting the 40th Asia Pacific Committee meeting. He hoped that GST will continue their good work in building closer international relationships through activities and exchanges.

On behalf of WAGGGS, Mary thanked the Vice President. Mary pledged that WAGGGS will work closely with the Girl Scouts of Taiwan in our efforts to create a better world.
