1980
  • 9th Asia Pacific Committee meeting held in Brisbane, Queensland Australia from 14 to 15 and 19 to 20 June
  • A regional training for prospective members of the training pool was held in Australia
  • The Asia Pacific Camp was held in the Philippines (Ruby Jubilee Camp) from 23 Dec to 2 Jan 1981, represented by 12 National Organizations
  • The Asia Pacific logo was adopted (designed by the Girl Scouts Association of the Republic of China)
  • The AP logo badge stickers were produced to raise funds for the Asia Pacific Regional Fund 
1981
  • 10th Asia Pacific Committee meeting held in World Bureau, London from 4 to 6 June
  • 11th Asia Pacific Committee meeting held in Sangam, India from 20 to 22 December
  • The Asia Pacific Training Pool and Resources Group were established 
1982
  • The first edition of the Asia Pacific leaflet was published
  • A regional trainers’ workshop was held in Singapore from 6 to 14 June as a follow-up to the training of trainers held in Australia in 1980  
1983
  • 12th Asia Pacific Committee meeting held in Tokyo, Japan from 26 to 28 August
  • The first edition of the Asia Pacific Song Book was published.  The songs were compiled by Pamela Kirkham (Australia), member of the Training Pool, and published by the Girl Guides Association of Australia Incorporated
  • A regional seminar on administration, finance and public relations was held in Japan, with the theme “Towards Human Progress and Harmony in the Asia Pacific Region through Girl Guiding / Girl Scouting 
1984
  • 13th Asia Pacific Committee meeting held in Kathmandu, Nepal from 24 to 27 April
  • The Asia Pacific Jamborella was held in Australia.  This was a regional shared event with the Scouts, attended by approximately 12,000 Guides and 800 Scouts.  The Asia Pacific Region sponsored the event.
  • Regional Adult Gathering held in Australia from 22 to 29 September
  • Exchanges of resource kits among member organizations were launched 
1985
  • 14th Asia Pacific Committee meeting held in Taipei, Taiwan from 28 to  31 Jan
  • A regional seminar for young leaders was held in Malaysia with the theme “Leaders of Tomorrow” in July
  • A sub-regional workshop for rangers / senior Girl Scouts and Guiders was held at Sangam with the objective of strengthening the program of rangers / senior Girl Scouts in October
1986
  • 15th Asia Pacific Committee meeting held in Quezon City, Philippines from 1  to 5 May
  • A regional conference for chief commissioners / presidents and general secretaries / executive directors was held in the Philippines with the theme “Sharing and Caring”
  • The first edition of the AP Regional Games Book was published.  Games were compiled by Emilinda Caparros, member of the Training Pool, and published by the Girl Scouts of the Philippines
  • A regional workshop for advanced trainers was held in Hong Kong with the theme “Training in the Nineties” 
1987
  • 16th Asia Pacific Committee meeting held in Jakarta, Indonesia from 24 Feb to 1 March
  • 17th Asia Pacific Committee meeting held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 18 to  22 October
  • The Asia Pacific Trainers’ Kit was published and launched at the Regional Gathering held at the 27th World Conference in Kenya.  (The kit was a product of the AP Regional workshop for advanced trainers held in Hong Kong in 1986)
  • The Adult Leaders Qualification Scheme was launched
  • The Asia Pacific Awareness Badge for Guides and rangers was launched
  • The Asia Pacific Twinning Project was launched
  • Regional training for Brownie leaders
1988
  • 18th Asia Pacific Committee Meeting held in New Zealand from 30th Aug to 2nd September
  • The AP Link was published
  • The first edition of the AP Recipe Book was published.  (Recipes were compiled by Freny Jilla, member of the AP Committee, 1981-1984)
  • The AP cloth badge was produced to raise money for the AP Fund
  • The AP regional song contest was launched
  • A regional event for leaders / guiders was held in New Zealand with the theme “Sharing and Caring, Our Vision of Tomorrow’s World” from 4 – 12 September
1989
  • 3rd Asia Pacific Regional Conference held in Thailand with the theme “Widening the Horizon for the Youth of tomorrow”.
  • Final judging for the AP song-writing contest was held in Bangkok.  Jennifer Benejero of The Girl Scouts of the Philippines won this contest.
