1969
  • The Asia Pacific Region of WAGGGS established at the 20th World Conference in Finland
  • Mrs Sita Rajasuriya (Sri Lanka) appointed Chairman of the Asia Pacific Committee 
1970
  • Five voting members of the Asia Pacific Committee appointed 
  • Twelve National Organizations became members of the Asia Pacific Region: Australia; Ceylon (Sri Lanka); Republic of China; India; Japan; Korea; Malaysia; New Zealand; Philippines; Singapore; Thailand and South Vietnam
1971
  • The first meeting of the Asia Pacific Committee was held at WAGGGS Sangam World Centre in Pune, India from 9 to 11 March
1972
  • 2nd Asia Pacific Committee meeting held in Toronto, Canada on 12 June
  • The first issue of the “Asia Pacific Newsletter” was published by the Girl Guides Association of Australia
  • Young Adults Gathering for countries in the Pacific Islands, Queensland, 5 to 23 June 
1973
  • First Regional Seminar for commissioners/secretaries held at Sangam World Centre
1974
  • 3rd Asia Pacific Committee meeting held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 22 to 25 May
  • The Regional Exchange Program for Guides was launched
  • The first Asia Pacific Regional Camp for Rangers/Senior Girl Scouts was held in Japan.  It was attended by 4000 local and overseas Rangers/Senior Girl Scouts from 28 July to 8 August
  • A Gathering of Trainers for the Asia Pacific Region was held in New Zealand, with the theme “Training Developments in the 70s” 
1975
  • 4th Asia Pacific Committee meeting held in Manila, Philippines from 19 to 21 February 
1976
  • 5th Asia Pacific Committee meeting held in Singapore from 10 to 14 February
  • A seminar for Guiders and Leaders in the Asia Pacific Region was held at Sangam from 28 Nov to 7 December.  The theme of the seminar was “Leadership for Today’s Girl”
  • The Asia Pacific Regional Fund was established.  Mrs Masuko Tsuge, a member of the Asia Pacific Committee, initiated the project 
1977
  • 6th Asia Pacific Committee meeting held in Sri Lanka from 27 to 31 August 
1978
  • 7th Asia Pacific Committee Meeting held in Tehran, Iran 24 to 25 August
  • 8th Asia Pacific Committee Meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand 7 to 9 December
  • A regional seminar for commissioners / Guiders / leaders and rangers / senior Girl Scouts was held in Thailand.  Its theme was “Bridging the Generation Gap”
  • The policy of having a committee member in charge of three or four member countries in the region was adopted
