Stepping Stones

We are trying to bring all best practices together to share your best practices and learn from one another.

The Asia Pacific Operational Plan Goal 2, Objective 1, Action 3 states ‘Compile best practices in 6 core areas from Member Organizations in category A for use as pointers / guidelines for other Member Organizations.’

The Committee considered this action and decided that many MOs, not just category A, have good practices that all could learn from. We also considered various descriptions of ‘Best Practice’ and felt we wanted something that is user-friendly and straight forward.

We are looking for steps that take us to the best services that we can deliver to fulfil our Mission. We all have the same end in mind however we express it, and learning from each other is the way of Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting. So we decided to make a collection of Stepping Stones that would be examples of methods that work well in developing a Member Organization.

We have developed a simple form to encourage MOs to share with others. The format will only introduce the idea and by submitting your Stepping Stone you will agree that another MO may contact you to ask for more information.

If you have one or more methods that work well in developing your MO please return the completed form with this evaluation; you may send as many as you wish but please note that the Region will choose the items that will be included in the first production of our Stepping Stones.

Please remember that this collection is to help all MOs to grow by giving ideas and prompting different ways of thinking, so we would like MOs to be able to easily understand what you have done. Please use the format as outlined below, using English that is easy to understand and translate. It is expected that one Stepping Stone will fit on ½ A4 page so please where possible use no more than the number of words indicated in the format. This collection will be available to other Regions.

Please note:

  • The Stepping Stone is an introduction to a method that works well
  • By submitting you agree that others may contact you for more information
  • The Region reserves the right to edit your submission, but will inform you of this
  • Please download the form of Stepping Stones from this page or from the resources section
